This weekend is the inaugural Disneyland Half Marathon. Jenny and I are here to 1] present clinics and 2] GET THE MEDAL.
We took a short run yesterday just to loosen up. DisneyLAND is much different than DisneyWORLD. There's not really a great place to run, but at least here the MickeyCops are yelling at you to get off the streets.
My family visited Disneyland in 1958 [YES! I know how long ago that was] It seemed much bigger to me then.
ORN: 3.25 miles, R4/W1 with Jenny. SLOW run for her. TEMPO run for me.

Frankly I don't know where to start. I was bored this evening so found your blog and Jenny's blog and was floored and sad to read about the loss of Jenny's dad, then the loss of your wonderful dog.
This was followed by hearing this morning that Brendan's mom passed away.
This all brought back a rush of emotions for me because I lost my mom just over a year ago and it hurt me a lot more than I expected.
I'm very sorry for your losses and for what must be your sadness.
It can not be much encouragement for you but I want to let you know that I FINALLY had a good long run this morning (18 miler). I've been battling all summer, trying to get these old bones in shape for Oct 22 and was about ready to throw in the towel.
Yes, I had to accept that I need to SLOW down so Charles hooked me up with Elsa and I had a very good time and a very good run, so we'll see what happens between now and the bewitching hour early Sunday, Oct. 22.
Maybe an old Buffalo Springfield tune would help "For What It's Worth"? or Kansas, remember them? I'm from Kansas by the way so "Carry On Wayward Son"...and Daughter!
Thinking of you in these challenging times.
Love you all!
Sam Nelson
