Sort of.
I'll tell you what, I don't know what this was but - I don't want it again. Best anyone can figure I ate food contaminated with something. Let's leave it at that.
Still don't think I can train today. I'm going to try to get out for a walk. Hope I have the energy for that. I'm supposed to do 8 miles on Saturday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I don't want to get behind in my long runs this early.
Of course, as I used to tell my students, the sooner you get behind, the longer you have to catch up.
Waddle on, friends.

Hi John
I just wanted to say hello and tell you a cool story...
As part of a self-imposed "sanity-restoration" plan I decided to run a marathon.
I have been a runners world subscriber for years, even though I haven't laced up in nearly 2 decades. And I have always enjoyed your column. So, with a race decided (the sun trust marathon in virginia,) I
went off to the book store with wild abandon and got several books including all of yours...except for The Courage to Start (they were out)...so I scored a used copy off amazon **disclaimer, I love used books to me it's a karma thing, books, food, music are best when shared.
Anyways, I just got it today and started reading; and per usual it made me smile and cry and laugh and think.
So after 80 pages and with the realization that I still had tons of grown-up stuff to do tonight I go to close the book and thats when I realize that this copy was signed by you.
What a cool surprise it was! There you were, plain as day. It made me smile. I am not sure why the original owner parted with her book, I like to think she sent it out into the universe to help someone else along this journey.
So I just wanted to say hello back. I am not quite sure how to (adequately) say thank you to someone for giving me hope.
But, thank you John.
You really do make a difference on this planet. I am so proud of you for getting out there everyday and being an inspiration for so many people.
Feel better, breathe and by all means waddle on...
Jules
