Funny day / Blog comments

ORN: No idea.

It's hard to explain. We were doing some demonstration running this morning and were out for several hours. It's not that I ever ran that long, but I did run a bunch.

Also, there's been a lot of "spam" replies to the blog. There's a setting where you have to type in a "hidden" word before you can post a comment. I'm sorry for the added step, but I think it's best for everyone.

Thanks for understanding.

John

Congratulations for your zen. I think I would have inserted a couple of obsenities if I had to take such mesures to get rid of spam. I hope to get to this level of calm when I'm able to run like you do. For now I'm just a baby penguin I guess. A stressed out baby penguin. Anyway, I really look up to you man. The way you write... it's really inspiring. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Thanks for keeping this journal going. I really look forward to reading it. It helps so much to know that someone I so admire goes through the same highs and lows as I do.

And don't worry about the hidden word. It's a lot less annoying then having to wade through a bunch of spam!

No big deal. Most people are using that now.

Great idea about the hidden word. You are the best. Thanks for the daily inspriation. Not sure how I really managed to keep putting one foot in front of the other before this blog! One of my running coachs even suggested I take up swimming LOL!

Thank you for inspiring me and I am a baby penguin too. This year was my first half marathon and it was quite exciting crossing the finish line. I would like to do the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati but will probly do the half. Thanks again for getting me started.

I read your blog every day! It's SOOOOO worth it to me, I don't mind at all typing in the "control word".
Thanks for blogging and writing your great articles for Runner's World...oh, yeah, and your books too! Such a source of comfort, encouragement and strength... practical advice, humor, wisdom... hmmmm...this could go on awhile!

I also thank you, for the blog, the RW column, and especially the books. I finished my first half-marathon 2 weeks ago, and rewarded myself with one of your shirts, and was so proud to wear it to the Y this morning. It's absolutely true - the miracle isn't that I finished, the miracle is that I found the courage to start. Thanks for giving those of us who thought we couldn't be runners because we don't LOOK like runners hope.

Just wanted to say 'hi' and thanks for your wonderful comments, advice etc, whether in your blog or in RW or in your books. I'm not much of a runner at this stage, but I definitely qualify as a penguin.
